GLC No Frills resin halter

It's Monday, which means I'm back to jury duty, and the blog is back to "almost wordless" posts.  The twenty models featured in today's photo array competed in the resin halter division at the recent GLC No Frills December show.  Overall Champion and Reserve honors went to the Purdy grey Arabian and the amazing tobiano Veronka shown in the last two pictures.  Enjoy!

  1. Wow, that bay warmblood looks SO like Alchemist, it's almost scary! Thank you for taking so many photos of spotted creatures...

Enjoy the jury duty - if nothing else, you will come back with a greater appreciation for the people around you :)

(or, in my case, a new low in the term "disfunctional relationships)

  2. Had I been captioning the pictures individually, that one would have read "Alchemist with braids."

I know most people complain about jury duty, but I've mostly found the experience to be interesting and worthwhile. Today, however, things took a turn to the weird and frustrating side. For the first time, I find myself hoping I'm one of the alternates. Only time will tell...

  3. So I've been staring at that saddlebred for ten minutes now--do you know the sculptor/finish artists?

  5. Anon--I know that's a Carlee Balling Haute Aire resin, but I have no idea who painted him. I agree that he's a very cool piece. Certainly one I'd be happy to have in my collection!

  6. I think the Haute Aire is a Kate Schick paint job. In fact, I think it's in her chestnut gallery: http://www.tuscanystudios.com/chestnutgallery.html

As always, thanks for sharing all the pictures! :)

  7. I was all set to tell you the bay WM was my favorite, until... my eyes fell upon the grey Pintaloosa. Uh, just look at my avatar???? IT'S MY BEST BOY MARBLES!!!!

Seriously, that model looks astounding like him. I've never known another grey Pintaloosa IRL so I'm truly amazed.

Do you happen to know who he belongs to? I wonder if he's a portrait... I'd love to communicate with the owner!

  8. WB, not WM and "astoundingly." Can you tell I was a bit over-excited when I was typing? ;-)
