Now, I realize there are some large mainstream blogs that get that many hits in a single day. But you know, I write about model horse tack. I think half a million page views is pretty darn impressive!

I also think it's worth celebrating so I've decided to hold a reader appreciation raffle. From now until the end of the month, every comment left on this blog will equal one entry in the raffle. Two winners will be chosen at random and a third will be selected on a merit basis. All posts are fair game. In truth, I really love getting new comments on old posts so keep that in mind if you're going for the merit award!
I haven't decided exactly what the prizes will be, but I can tell you that they won't be saddles. Halters, bridles, boots and other accessories are a distinct possibility, as are models and tack making supplies. Most likely, I'll let the winners choose for themselves.
Good luck to all and thanks for reading!!

That's really amazing! Yours is one of my favorite blogs, though. I love the way you intersperse tack-making posts with personal stories, and the tone is so congenial and welcoming, it's always a pleasure to read. Congratulations!

ReplyDeleteSo glad to see that!! Congrats!! I'm glad you were able to take a short break from tack making and come back to it with fresh eyes. It would have been a shame if you had taken longer! We all would have gone through withdrawls!!
ReplyDeleteNow to win something from you! That would be cool!!

ReplyDeleteGin
Congrats! Your blog is alot of fun to read! And so informative!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the kind words. They make me very happy!
ReplyDeleteTo all you anonymous folks--please sign your commetns. The last time I had a contest one of the winners was anonymous. I quoted her winning commment on my blog in hopes of finding the author but she claimed her prize. Don't let that happen to you!!!
In regards to the Impressive photo... I "met" him while I was on the Colorado State University Horse Judging Team in 1990. We took a week long road trip though Oklahoma and Texas before participating in a competition at Texas A&M. Every single day of that trip consisted of one or two visits to a MAJOR Quarter Horse facility. HYPP had yet to be discovered, but there was some other vague scandal hanging over Impressive and his farm. Because of that, he was not taken out for our inspection and I managed just three stall photos. This was the best of the lot.
Your blog is actually the highlight of my day. Whenever I'm on my computer, the first place I go is Braymere, then my email. Not only for your amazing photography, but you knowledge of horses both real and model is something that I just can't get enough of!
ReplyDeleteI started making tack thanks to you (and Anna Kirby, whose blog I discovered thanks to yours!) and now I'm completely hooked. Thank you for taking the time to post here. You're truly inspirational for us youngin's :)

ReplyDeleteWow, 500,000! Mine is nearing 10,000, most of whom found their way there through your blog. In fact about 50% of referral URLs involve the word Braymere in them somewhere!
ReplyDeleteSo thank you! And I read your blog every day, it provides so much inspiration, and makes me wonder actually, where do YOU get your inspiration?
I've been lurking for ages, love your blog! It's an amazing gateway into the tackmaking side of the hobby and like Gracie your blog is one of the first things I check in the morning.

JenF
I could REALLY use a new western show halter! But I never win anything, no matter how many raffle tickets I buy. I'd LOVE one of yours!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS! That is amazing how many posts that you have gotten! I LOVE your blog and enjoy reading about your family as much as your tack information! I especially loved a very long ago post about Dick Francis-one of my favorite authors as well. I have read and reread his stories and still love them all! Keep up the great Blog work!
ReplyDeleteMary Lineman
Congrats! Half a million sure is something :)
ReplyDeleteI've been following your blog for as long as I've been on blogger, but never had the guts to post a comment. Maybe this will finally be able to make me talk, haha. I've always dreamed of having a piece of your tack!
Congratulations Jennifer!! As you know, I love your blog, but what I didn't know is that posting a comment is so easy. I have not attempted this on any blog for several years. It used to seem that you needed a separate login for each one. Thank you for creating this wonderful place to learn your tips and peek into your happy life with horses, dogs, family, and rats!
ReplyDeleteYay, a contest! I could use some nicer boots...
ReplyDelete~Mara
Your blog is totally addicting. Every day I find some new aspect to enjoy...a tack making tip, performance setup, gorgeous landscape or equine photography. You have it all! Congratulations on your milestone.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Courtney and everybody: What a great excuse to get us lurkers to post! What I like about your blog is that it's always there (quotidian, or daily) and the breadth of subject: Real horses, dogs, boys, husbands, and real rats! as well as model tack, MY favorite. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Jennifer! What an amazing accomplishment! Keep it up :)
ReplyDeleteI have to check your blog every day and usually it's first in line. If you take a break from posting (which you do deserve), I go through withdrawal.
ReplyDeleteHeather Larkins

ReplyDeleteJo K.
There are a few Blogs that I read regularly and yours is the one I read first when I go online!
ReplyDeleteI've never left a comment before so I guess this is a good time to retire from lurker mode...
Your blog is informative, funny, endearing and interesting. I've marveled at your tackmaking, cheered your show successes, tried to absorb all the hobby information and even shed a tear at the passing of Basil.

ReplyDeleteI've been lurking for a few months and am new to the hobby. I find your blog fascinating! I don't think I'd have the patience to fiddle around with such tiny straps and buckles. Your tack is amazing and this blog deserves all the views it gets.

ReplyDeleteYour work is so inspiring, Jennifer :) and simply lovely to read. I'm "stuck" in college, and so love to live vicariously through your studio's happenings. Plus, I love to sit and be like, "HOW?! did she make that?!" haha like those little pin-head looking studs in the halters pictured in this post; it is like a study break game ;)
Thank you for all the happy memories!
