Mini judging clinic

Yesterday, Renae Grinlaubs, Jennifer Scott and I gathered at Heather Malone's house for a mini judging clinic and round table judging discussion for the Mares in Black podcast.
The first part of the event was purely social. We ate and talked and played with the cats.
We also admired the horses.
So many pretties!
Then it was down to business. We set up some classes and started judging. This is Resin Ponies...
and this is Custom Glaze China ponies. Although may not be obvious from the look on my face, I really enjoyed listening to Jenn discuss the models on the table. She explained the differences between underglazing and overglazing, both in regards to process and results. I will never look at Chinas the same way again!
After we finished judging, we moved into the office for our recorded round table discussion
Renae, Jenn and I were all pretty nervous about speaking on air, but I think we did okay. At least, I hope so!
This was a really fun and educational way to spend a day. Thank you so much, Heather, for making this happen. I learned a lot!

P.S. If you are wishing you could hear Jenn talk about underglazing and overglazing, you are in luck. She was kind enough to share her knowledge (again!) during the round table discussion. Check out the Mares in Black Facebook page and website for information regarding future podcasts.

  1. Awesome. I've listened to MIB1 thru 4, but still have to get to 5!
