Stablemate showcase

After watching Lesli and Sarah paint a couple stablemates, I just had to try it for myself. It was fun, but also really hard.

Here's my pony (chestnut) next to Mandy Hood's (bay splash). I like hers better!
Some of the other hobbyists who painted stablemates at BreyerWest included Kelly Weimer,
 Stacy Quick,
and Dayle Steinke.
Since Dayle...
and Lynn shared a palette...
their stablemates were almost identical!
It's difficult painting realistic colors with craft paint and floppy brushes, so some people, including Mackenzie,
Heather...
and Leah decided to go the decorator route.
Leah's stablemate turned out particularly nice.
His other side.
The cutest painter award went to Erin's daughter, Olive
Here's her masterpiece.
This was so much fun! Big thanks to Breyer for supplying the stablemates...
and paint.
Thanks also to every single person...
who volunteered their time in the painting area.

Maybe next year we can have a Stablemate painting challenge class?

  1. It looks like everyone had a great time! I think my favorites are the rainbow-colored one (by Heather) and Leah's pony. That bay splash is cool too.. ah, heck, they are all neat! :)

  2. How do we find out Breyer sponsored events in our area? The Breyer calendar seems to list shows, but I'm looking for ones like these!
