Most of my huntseat sets are more or less the same, but I'm trying to shake things up a little with Purdy's pink pony jumper set. To that end, I've built my first five point breastplate.
It took a couple tries to get the fit right, but I'm pleased with the results.I also added stirrups and stirrup leathers.
The leathers are pretty standard...
but the stirrup pads are pink. So cute and so ridiculous!
I still have the boots and bridle left to do. I wonder how many more new ways I can come up with to make this set Purdy-er than average?

For the bridle, it would be cute if you did a black bridle with pink keepers, pink padding and maybe some pink crystals on the browband! Don't forget the flash attachment/or you could do a figure 8 bridle!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of pink, but this set is turning out to be pretty cool. I look forward to seeing the finished product.
ReplyDeleteIt's so cute!!! you should make pink sport boots or pink bell-boots to go with it :) Lol
ReplyDeletea crupper with pink outlining!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get the stirrup pads?
ReplyDeleteThey are from the World of Model Horse Collecting on eBay. I bought the white resin pads, primed, painted and sealed them. Time consuming, but worth the effort I think.
DeleteJust a thought – they make real horse bits with pink (and various other colors) rubber bars. Happy Mouth bits come in pink in various bit styles ranging from D-Rings to Eggbutts and loose ring snaffles to Pelhams and elevator gags. If you are interested in adding a little extra pink to the set, I make loose ring and D-ring bits with colored “rubber bars” in model scale, and I would be more than happy to make and send you either a D-ring or loose ring snaffle with pink “rubber bars” for free. : )

I want a pink trimmed saddle in Ozzy size!
ReplyDeleteI love that!!! but I feel like the saddle needs more pink...
ReplyDeleteWould you ever consider selling one of your English saddle patterns? I am a tack maker myself, and I like everything of mine to be original, but this has been quite the struggle of mine for a while...Would you ever sell a pattern? If so, how much would it cost? :) Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteSorry. I have no interest in selling my patterns.
DeleteWOW! How did you do that! It looks AMAZING!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI saw this breast collar and fell in love with how it looks! I have always been a huge fan of yours!
ReplyDeleteThe pink part, looks stretchy, what is it?
Thank you and look forward to hearing from you!
