NaMoPaiMo showcase - Margaret Balch

NaMoPaiMo brought together more than three hundred model horse hobbyists from nineteen countries and resulted in nearly two hundred finished horses. It was a great success by any measure, but one of the things I am most proud of is how many people were inspired to try finishwork for the first time.

Margaret Balch was one of the first time painters. She used Pan Pastels over an acrylic basecoat...
so many layers!...
to create this beautiful bay stablemate.
Here he is again in natural light.
Congratulations, Margaret! You did an outstanding job. Please keep painting!

  1. <3 Thank you :-)

I had a lot of fun and want to try more (and bigger) pieces! I just need to get my hands on prepped things (or make the boyfriend learn how to prep).

    1. Holy Cow!!! That's really good! I could never have the amount of patience you have!

  2. Seth is a pretty good husband, but the odds of him learning to prep models are approximately never-ever-not-in-a-million-years. Good luck!

    1. Hahahaha right?

I think he might be in to it though because he's used to cleaning/prepping his Warhammer miniatures (clearing of flashing and smoothing mold lines). He's mentioned something that sounded like he might be receptive to the idea of trying...so we'll see. ;)
