Almost wordless Wednesday

In between tack orders, I've been rehabbing a few older resins One of which was so completely lacking in eye detail that I felt compelled to break out the epoxy and do a bit of customizing. Here are some of the reference pictures that I used to guide myself during this endeavor. Lots of these should be helpful to painters, too.

  1. I love the one that's third from last :-) The blue shadows are great!

  2. That's pretty Miss Bobbie's eye!

I know some artists use a little bit of blue in the pupil when painting model eyes. It's an easy thing to overdo, but it looks great when done properly. All my Purdy horses have this feature.

  3. Beautiful eyes! For repainting it's so important to have pictures of horse details handy!
