Estes Park Horse Show

Performance showing, at least at the highest levels, is all about research, creativity and the ability to think outside the box. Of these, research is my strong suit. I freaking love research.

This weekend, I drove up the mountain to attend the seventieth and final Estes Park Horse Show.
Officially, I was there to photograph and cheer for my friend, Trisha, as she showed her horses, Roxie and Jacob, and her clients' horses, Calarro, Mac and Joy, throughout the day.
Unofficially, however, the day was all about research. Because, let me tell you, that class-list had model horse performance shower written all over it.
The offerings included Western Dressage,
Bareback Dressage,
Family Class,
Ride-A-Buck,
Trisha has attended the Estes Park Show since she was a child. I know how much this show means to her, and I was really happy to be a (small) part of its final edition. Her crew did great, we got in a lot of good visiting and I came away with all sorts of great ideas for my next performance show. What a wonderful day!

  2. I love Estes Park and the fairgrounds - bringing back lots of childhood memories of going up there with my grandparents. Thank you for the pictures!
