About a month ago, Lauren Mauldin issued a challenge to all the artisans who read my blog. She posted a bunch of hunter princess tack items and said, "Make these!"
One of the things on that list was a shipping halter...
with nameplate.I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this, but... Squee! It's so cool!
Of course, once I figured out how to make the nameplate, I just had to make some more.
Bribe. Hint.
At this rate...
everything is going to have a nameplate! Thanks for the push, Lauren. Now to figure out those Ogilvy pads...

Those nameplates are so cute! Just a quick question, are those actually metal or are they cardstock or something similar?
ReplyDeleteThey remind me of the little name tag you put on the buckle of Jane's bridle a while ago :)
I think they are caedstock, because of the way the paint is.
DeleteThey are not cardstock and that's all I'm saying!
Delete:D
I found myself a new goal here!
DeleteSame here. I have an idea for those oglivy pads, but i am not going to tell anyone.
DeleteGuessing it is some sort of printed transfer, maybe? Though I'm not sure how it would hold onto metal. Hmm...
DeleteReally cool idea. Lovely tack work as always!
ReplyDeleteThese nameplates are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHmmm.. Olgvy pads.....
Love them!!
ReplyDeleteLove this! Especially the nameplates are awesome!
ReplyDeleteI have finished making the standing wraps!
ReplyDeleteWith monograms?
DeleteWe need pictures!!
They sort of have monograms. My priner is giving the computer The Silent Treatment, so I had to draw infinity symbols by hand and glue them on. I am currently taking photos. Where should I email them to?
DeleteHow do you make the nameplates? Please to a tack tip on them!
ReplyDeleteYou've found a way! Tell us all how to do it =D
ReplyDeleteAs much as I believe in sharing information, I'm going to hold on to the nameplate secret, at least for a little while.
ReplyDelete(Honestly, it's not that difficult)
Awww, come on. We NEED to know!!!!! Honestly, though, they look pretty cool.
DeleteHow much for a halter like the one on the black horse, to fit the PS ISH, with a name plate with my stable name on it? Stable name is Currahee. Please contact me at agpoole1961@att.net
ReplyDeleteI'm not taking custom orders right now. Sorry!
Deleteooooh... Now I want a nameplate on my cutback saddle... retro fit?
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling there are going to be a lot of retrofits in my future...
Delete:)
Perfect! :D
ReplyDeleteooh those name plates are awesome! adds a really nice touch :)
ReplyDeleteLove the nameplates! If not able to share lol how about making and selling the nameplates for tackmakers? Just san idea.
ReplyDeleteI totally need a nameplate for my Bunny portrait halter! :D So cool!
ReplyDeleteThats just awesome! =D
ReplyDeleteYesss Ogilvy Pads!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you'll see this but could you pretty please do a tack tip on how to make these please!
ReplyDeleteI want a halter like this so badly! My guess is it's spare metal and either stickers or some type of stamp. Might be from a golf ball marker, I have one that stamps your name on it.
ReplyDeleteI figure out how to make the name plates. My own way, at least. And no, I will not tell how..
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I'd love to see a picture. :)
DeleteWell, I learned how to make the plate itself.. Lol. Still trying to figure out how to make add names to it. :) Beautiful tack, by the way.
ReplyDeleteIf you look closely at the nameplate on the shipping halter, there appears to be a clear edge around it. Which seems innocuous in itself, but I kind of suspect that this was made with a laminator somewhere in the mix. But that's just a guess!
