There was a time--a long time, actually--when my hobby participation was limited to the purchase of one or two original finish Breyers a year and a subscription to the Hobby Horse News.
Even though I didn't own any resins or customs, those were the models that captured my imagination. I pored over those magazines, studying the artist ads and deciding which models I'd choose if I suddenly had an unlimited hobby budget.
Usually, those my choices were performance oriented. I wanted a Vigil for English and a Black Horse Ranch Loper for Western.
I also wanted a Lori Daniels Chip.
I have the Vigil and the Loper, and yesterday--finally!--I got my Chip.
Thanks so much for trading with me, Laurel. I just love him!
P.S. Chip needs a name. Please post your suggestions in the comment section.

Didn't you just name him Patience? You could stock horse it up and make him "Hez Patient" or "Got Patience?" if you want to get sassy.
ReplyDeletePatience sounds like a girl's name. He's a gelding, but still....
ReplyDeleteDelayed gratification is a good thing!
ReplyDeleteJennifer's Third Wish, Wisher or Three for short. Glad he's somewhere he'll be fully utilized, and I've been evil deciding on my end...
ReplyDeleteOh, and would you say he's a sooty buckskin splash + sabino? So much fun!
ReplyDeleteImagination or Realised Dream. He is absolutely gorgeous :-)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the chip resin! I semi-recently got one that was also painted by Lori Daniels. That was an exciting day too (especially since I then got to walk over and show Lori what I bought!) Love your new horse!
ReplyDeleteI want to see your Chip. This one is also painted by Lori. Signature says 2001. He's in great shape for such an old dude!

Buskshot? Yosemite? Yukon? Hidden Treasure? Hot Expectations Fiasco? General? Oh, he is a beauty! I would have a hard time naming him, for sure.
ReplyDeleteHeza Classy Cowboy????.....man, I just keep thinking of names!
ReplyDeleteI think something such as Lucky Boy would be good. Also, you did for him, so how about the Perfect Trade, or Good Deal. I think I've heard of a horse named Lucky Trade.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with that!
I've known several Luckys and every single one of them was nicknamed Yucky. Just can't name a model that!
DeleteHead Turner, Eye Catcher,... I usually can come up with super names, but he is so unique he really needs something extra special.
ReplyDeleteSplash of Excellence! :)
ReplyDeleteHeza Straight Shooter
ReplyDeletehe is so BE-A-U-TI-FUL!!!!!! some good names would be Cowboy Core, Pokerface, Magic Tricks... and I could honestly go on with so many more wonderful ideas for names, but I agree with anonymous above. a great horse requires a great name:) PS...to help come up with some random names, just think random! you never know the weirdest inspirations can be the best...such as 'blue-eyed bandit', from just looking at those beautiful blue eyes!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy dad had a pony named Oh Boy because that's what he said when his father surprised him by buying him the pony. Lucky Me, Patience, Heza Long Wait... Glad you got one of your long time wishes. :)
ReplyDeleteLove him! I thought 'Mission Complete' right away.
ReplyDeleteMr. Marvelous
ReplyDeleteDepends upon what feel of name you are going for. Maybe Shy Boy, or Jenn's Shy Boy? This model has a really calm look about him. He's in motion, yet relaxed and controlled. The shy dynamic also sort of ties into the fact that it took you a while to find yourself a copy.
ReplyDeleteSO many great suggestions and none of them are resonating...
ReplyDelete:(
However, I kind of like anon's suggestion of Pokerface... or maybe Poker Chip? Is that too boring?
Personally, I think that Heza Classy Cowboy fits him really well. :)
ReplyDeleteBut so does Pokerface!
I like Poker Chip!
ReplyDeleteI like poker chip but I was thinking Working On It! You waited and worked for a very long time to get this beautiful model. Congrats by the way.
ReplyDeleteForget Me Knot, Eye Candy, Hez A Keeper

DeleteYou could also do Forget Him Knot
