She's probably about a year and a half old. She was picked up on the street in mid September and was very pregnant. The shelter spayed her (more like a late term multiple abortion, ew) and today was the first day she was put up for adoption. She's definitely unsure of things but is doing really, really well. She likes kids more than adults so far and wants to play with Darcy but gets scared as soon as the play gets rough. It's a bit too early to say, but I think she's going to fit in fine.
It breaks my heart that someone would consider such a sweet little dog a disposable animal...she's SO lucky that you and your family were looking for another fur-baby to love!
Ha! Mel has described the main reason why we couldn't keep the name Roxanne. Poor pup's already heard that about twenty times today, more if you count the derivative "RooooooooxEmma." Poor thing. I keep telling her that this, too, shall pass.
Emma and Darcy are both names from Jane Austen books - I think you have a trend!
ReplyDeletei vote Emile Im not shure if i spelled that right but i think it fits
ReplyDeleteTess, Emma, Sasha, Lia?
ReplyDeleteShe looks adorable!
Rosie
She is absolutely lovely! I think Emma suits her perfectly, much, much better than Roxanne. How old is she?
ReplyDeleteWoohoo on the new arrival!
ReplyDeleteI like Roxanne but I also like Emma. Much easier to yell, that's for sure :)

ReplyDeleteTeresa, ha, I dunno... Yelling "Rooooooxanne!" might be pretty hilarious. I'm gonna have that song stuck in my head all day now.
ReplyDeleteLove your new girl Jennifer. She sounds like a nice fit - good luck with her!
