My beautiful Darcy dog

I woke up this morning to the sound of Darcy having a grand mal seizure.  She has had two more since then.  We've been  to the vet's office (twice), and Darcy is now on anti-seizure meds.  It's too soon to know if they will help, and since the results from the bloodwork won't be back until Monday, it's impossible to know what we're dealing with.

Needless to say, it's been a terrible day.
I'll try to keep things updated, but no promises.

  8. Oh, no! Hopefully they will find the reason for the seizures and the medication will control without side effects. Poor puppy and puppy mom!!

  10. I'm sorry to hear about Darcy. My dog just went through hell being diagnosed with insulin dependent Diabetes. She nearly died when the emergency veterinary clinic missed the fact she was suffering from Ketoacidosis. She was admitted the next morning to our local vet's ICU for treatment. Now our days are filled with syringes, urine tests and making sure Abby isn't hypo or hyperglycemic.

  11. Oh April, I am so sorry to hear about your poor Abby dog. My vet tells me that if Darcy had to have a chronic health issue, epilepsy is a good one. It's easily treated and dogs can live a good long life on anti-seizure meds. Hopefully, you and Abby will have an equally good outlook.
