The first finished tack order of 2013 is done and in the hands of the United States Postal Service.
Here's a look at all the individual pieces... and a close-up view of the saddle and overgirth.
Although I really struggled in the early stages of this saddle's creation, I couldn't be more pleased with the final results. In fact, now I really want to buy a Max and make a Criollo saddle for myself!

Beautiful work, as always!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAwesome I could never do that
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful! 2013 is off to a great start :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning! I was wondering what you used for the sheepskin cover - was it real sheepskin or a faux/fake equivalent? Ta :)
ReplyDeleteIt's real lambswool. Tiffany sent me part of a lambswool hide a couple years back, and I've really enjoyed having it. It's delightfully in scale and works like leather rather than fabric.
DeleteI looooooove Gaucho tack. So over the top and yet sort of primitive in construction. Someday, I'd like to get one like this (real and model size... matching) :http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2737/4330948837_c2b7c62d02_m.jpg
ReplyDeleteThe typical Southern Brazilian Saddle!!!
