And the saddle goes to...

All told, seven hundred and fifty nine comments were recorded during the contest period.  I used a random number generator to choose the winning entry, which was left on the "HITS 1993" post.

I have to admit, the part of me that always roots for the underdog was kind of hoping the winner would be a kid or someone else who could not otherwise afford one of my saddles.  Anne is great, but she already owns several pieces of my work.

The more I thought about it, however, the more I realized that Anne was the perfect winner.  Not only is she a dedicated performance shower and skilled hobby artist, she's also a fellow blogger.  Her Field of Dolls blog covers many of the same topics as Braymere Custom Saddlery, but from a completely different angle.  Additionally, she's a long time reader and supporter of the Braymere blog, and I feel privileged to count her among my hobby friends.  Congratulations again, Anne!  It's people like you who make writing this blog so rewarding!

    I wish I had the time and energy to make saddles for everyone! It's hard to have just one winner, when so many are deserving...

    I know Anne's email address, but I haven't told her she's the winner yet. I think it's more fun to let her find out on her own!

    Great Job for 1,000,000, still wish I was the winner. I would have loved to have won one of your saddles, for I never could afford one. Congrats on the win Anne!

    HOLY COW! I am SOOOOO excited! I totally expected someone other than me to win because I don't usually win AWESOME prizes like this! WOW! So I came to check the blog to see who won and I saw...MY DOLLS! I nearly had heart failure! The kids are trying to sleep so I am trying to keep quiet. YAY!!! WOW, so excited. Thank you SO much Jennifer. For so many things; your great blog posts about so many interesting topics, your awesome tack that I have a TON of fun playing with, being a very friendly emailer and for having great contests.     Here's the fine print on the contest. You don't get to pick what kind of saddle you get. That's up to me, and it's going to be a surprise (fortunately for you, I have a pretty good idea of what you "need"). Also, the time frame is going to be at least a month, and more likely two.
