Horses N Hangars resin ponies, drafts and champions!

No division is nearer and dearer to my heart than the Pony division.  I just love the little ones...

so you have to know that this pictures makes me really, really happy.  That's three Buxton ponies winning first, second and third in the British Pony class at the Horses N Hangars Live show in Broomfield, Colorado.   

American Ponies was nearly as rewarding with my own Chipper and Poka Tia claiming the top two spots.

My palomino U-Know resin was also victorious in the Other/Mix Pony class, but I forgot to take her picture.  You can see her on the call back table standing between Mabel (AA Walking Shetland) and Dagobert (pinto Otto).  In the end, Poka Tia (Eberl Lina with bows) was named division champion and Teresa Fedak's Ghost Spots (Appaloosa mini, far right) was reserve.

The drafters were next, and that division opened with a top notch Shire/Clydesdale class.  

This customized Boreas is the product of two Colorado artists--Karen Gerhardt and Sheila Anderson Bishop.

Horses like this... 

make me reconsider my No Minis rule! 

Belgians/Percherons were next.  BFF won the class and Dhaulagiri placed fourth.  

The Gypsy Vanner/North American Spotted Draft class was dominated by minis.

The division ended with an absolutely amazing Longear/Exotic class.

Finally it was time for the Championship judge off.  

Every horse, donkey and mule that had won a division Champ or Reserve was asked to come back to the judging table.

I was fortunate enough to have four of my critters on that table...

but in the end, top honors went to Kim Lovelace's Indy resin with Kim's Khemosabi in Reserve.

Horses N Hangars resin stock, gaited & Spanish breeds

The Resin Stock Breed division opened with the Appaloosa class.  This customized Rose Reiner...

and this Lone Star painted by Laura Skillern are both owned by Kim Lovelace.

Teresa Fedak is the lucky owner of Surprise, an Eberl Carlito painted by Sheila Anderson Bishop. 

I tend to overlook minis, but this guy was too cute to miss.

Onto to Paints!  Both these boys were painted by Liesl Dalpe and belong to me.

Diane Capwell's work was also well represented with not one... 

but two Beaux resins in the mix.

This big boy is a Sundance resin.  He was sculpted and painted by Colorado's own Sheila Anderson Bishop.

Quarter Horses were next. 

My customized Valor by Tiffany Purdy was fourth.   I was pretty pleased with that...

because the horses that beat him were absolutely amazing.  Second place went to this guy.  He is a Knightly Cadence resin with a new neck and Valor head.  Liesl Dalpe did the customizing and Kim Lovelace is the lucky owner.

The winner was this lovely grey Matriarch by Carol Williams.  Just beautiful! 

Mustangs were next and what do you know? 

It was another big, tough class!

Things didn't get any easier as we headed into the Gaited/Spanish division.

Talk about a tough decision!

This is the one I wanted most.

Another one of Kim's models--this is an Eberl Mulinette customized and painted by Cindy Williams. 

Gaited and Spanish callback table.  If I remember correctly, the Indy was Champion and the mule was Reserve.

Whew--I told you I took a lot of pictures!  Just ponies and drafters left to go (for this division anyway!).

Horses N Hangars resin light and sport breeds

The Light Breed Resin Halter division at Saturday's Horses N Hangars Live opened with the Arabian stallion class.  Since Deb McDermott was judging, I couldn't show Rune.  Fortunately he's not the only nice Arabian stallion in my show string!

The winner was Kim Lovelace's dapple grey Khemosabi resin.  Kim is a new face in the Colorado show ring, but she's no newbie.  Her show string is absolutely top notch, and this was only the first in a whole string of blue ribbons for her. 

Arab Mares and Geldings were next.  

My Rio Rondo Park Arabian resin won the National Show Horse class...

and Kim's Rio Rondo Park Arabian resin won the half-Arab class.

My own UVM Right Royal was second in the Morgan class.

I'm not certain, but I think this Santa Fe Renegade resin owned by Heather Roell may have been the winner of the Morgan class.

The last class in the division was an Other/Mixed Light Breed class.

This little guy is a portrait of Teresa Buzzell's big guy, Flick.  Mini Flick is a mini Nahar resin sculpted by Sarah Rose and painted by Steph Michaud.

And the winners are...  two of Kim's horses!  I think the Park Arabian was champion and Khemosabi was reserve.

Onto to the Sport Horses!  This is judge Deb McDermott muling over her placings for the Thoroughbred class.

Success!  My Victrix was third and my Valor was first.

Adonis Z was unable to replicate his recent championship.  This time he had to settle for third place in the Warmblood class.

I didn't have any horses in the Carriage/Driving class, but I had four in Other/Mix Sport.  Neither of my Akhal Tekes placed.  Frank was fourth...

and Sweet Basil was the winner!  Yay!
