CharrerĂa

Earlier this month, Fabian and I rode a Charro horse.
That was fun so we decided to do it again.
On Sunday, Fabian and I drove out to Rancho Moreno in Thornton...
where we met his friend Priscilla and her horse Jackie.
Priscilla tacked up Jackie...
then climbed aboard and showed us what she could do.
It was impressive.
Fabian went next.
 It was also impressive.
Then it was my turn.
It was not impressive.
Usually, I'm pretty good at figuring out new horses quickly, but for some reason, I struggled with Jackie. Priscilla called me over and gave me a few tips.
It got better after that.
Still, I think perhaps I am not cut out to be a Charro.
Of course, that doesn't mean I won't keep trying!
Thank you for a fun day, Fabian, Priscilla and especially Jackie!

President Jackson

Today I met a mule named President Jackson.
I don't know which party he represents...
but I would vote for him.
Look at that mug!
I also met his advisors Lucy...
and Emma.
Like my red dog of the same name...
Emma is the true boss of the operation.
Such a fun day!
Thanks for the Presidential tour, Fabian!

Almost wordless Wednesday

This has been the late spring summer of riding. I don't know that I've ever had this many good horses at my disposal, and that's not something I will ever take for granted. I have ridden almost every day for the last month. It's been amazing and overwhelming but mostly amazing. Here are a few photos. Enjoy!

The back-up plan

BreyerFest is less than a month away.
I am not ready.
I have been so busy with family, house and horse stuff. Despite my good intentions its clear that I won't have enough sales tack to fill my table in the Artisan's Gallery. Fortunately, I have a really good back-up plan.
Instead of using that space to sell tack, I'm going to use it to showcase NaMoPaiMo. Each day there will be a different herd of models on display. Thursday will be members of the class of 2017, Friday will be 2018 and Saturday will be 2019. It's going to be fabulous.
If you're going to be in Kentucky and would like to have one of your models included, please email me at Namopaimo@gmail.com, and we will make it happen!

Dinosaur performance

Knowing that both Jackie "Dr. Steggy" Rossi and Cam "the Dinosaur Man" Clow would be attending this year's Jennifer Show, I decided to float the idea on the Jennifer Show Facebook page.
Jackie tried to resist,
but Cam took the bait.

and sinker!

Then other people started to get in on the action.
I love it when a plan comes together.
No pressure, people, but I'm going to be really disappointed if they're aren't a whole lot of dinosaurs on the table in the Other Animal Performance class. In fact, I'm willing to offer a big prize to the top dinosaur entry. No promises, but it may involve a saddle...

If you're attending the Jennifer Show and haven't joined the Jennifer Show Facebook page, what are you waiting for? This is where all the news and chatter is happening, and it's also the single best place to discuss Dinosaur Performance!
