Children's and Youth performance

Performance showers at the BreyerFest Children's and Youth Show are prohibited from using "professional" tack or props.
Everything must be made by Breyer...
or the entrant herself.
This sounds like a serious handicap, but let me tell you: Some of these kids are seriously good tack makers.
The girl who made this saddle told me that she didn't have blue leather dye so she used a Sharpie marker to color the seat and flaps.
Some of the entries in the Youth Realistic Scene class would have been competitive at the Open Show
This is so good.
And the Creative Scene entries...
Those were all sorts of awesome!
Squee!
I also enjoyed the Costume by Owner class.
So much variety.
So much fun.
These kids are making performance look easy.
Keep on tacking, girls.
I can't wait to see what you come up with next!

  2. The coal mining pinto pony is an acquaintance's little girl's display... Cheney rides ponies and is utterly amazing. I had NO idea she showed models until her Mom posted photos of the coal mining pony on her FB page and another model Cheney made by cutting up the paint gypsy Breyer model and reassembling and re-painting it into an extraordinary rearing beast of a horse! I had the privilege of watching Cheney show in the local state 4H shows before she moved on to the A Circuit. Geez, dreams do come true for some people!!!! :) Keep up your awesome blog, Jennifer. You are an exceptional woman and the tack you make is unbelieveable!
