KHP Museum

One of my favorite parts of the Kentucky Horse Park is the museum. I love the collection of old and unusual saddles. I wish I had more pictures of some of these, as well as information about the age and origins.
Oh well, that's just one more reason why I need to go to Breyerfest one of these years!
Horse drawn chariot.
Chariot horse bridles. These don't look authentic to me, but what do I know? Some of the taxidermied horses are a little creepy, but this Arab looks pretty good!
More tomorrow!

  1. OMG, you would have LOVED the special exhibit in the museum this year on mexican saddles and horsemanship. They had amazingly detailed saddles with embroidery on leather (this was mind boggling work) and the saddles were to die for. Unfortunately, "no photography or video allowed" grrr......

  2. Oh, I would love to see that! I have a Charro saddle on order and even though I have a lot of reference pictures, I really, really want to see one up close and in person...
