Three month Oliversary

Yesterday Olive and I celebrated our three month anniversary.

Our third month together was a cold and snowy one.
I still went to the barn every day...
and I still went riding...
but most of it was walk only.
Fortunately, there are a lot of things you can do at a walk.
The outdoor arena at Kenlyn is right in the middle of everything. When I got Olive, she was often completely overwhelmed by outside the ring chaos. Fortunately, that is becoming less and less of an issue.
Similarly, the golf cart has gone from being an object of terror to a welcomed dispenser of treats. Look at her greedy little face grabbing the bit and marching me over to see Susan.
She thinks she's getting a cookie...
and she's right!
We've also done a lot of work on riding in a group. This is something Olive really did not like doing, but now she's happy to fall into step with Thunder.
Speaking of Thunder, he's Olive's new turnout buddy.
This is probably a better deal for Olive than it is for Thunder.
She is a red mare after all.
Still, it makes my heart really happy seeing them spending time together.
While I'm definitely looking forward to warmer days and more consistent footing, this has been a pretty good month.
I love my pony.
Happy three month anniversary, Olive. Here's looking forward to many, many more!
