NaMoPaiMo day four

Today I rushed home from work and logged onto Facebook to attend Tegan Davis' free online Painting a Grulla with Pastels class.

Tegan opened with a discussion of her preferred products (Duplicolor white primer, Mr Super Clear Gloss and Matte spray and Rembrandt pastels).

After that, she talked a little bit about finding reference photos, and then it was time to start painting! Her demonstration piece was an Arabian medallion. Over the course of the two hour class, she was able to apply several layers of pastel.

In between layers, she answered questions and shared photos of other grullas painted with this palette and process.

NaMoPaiMo is all about education, encouragement and community. This wonderful, free class provided all of these in spades. In recognition of her generosity in putting this together, Tegan Davis is the NaMoPaiMo Champion of the Day.

Congratulations, Tegan, and good job to everyone who worked on their models today. I can't wait to see what we all do tomorrow!
