I put on a costume to ride a horse.
Fabian did the same.
Ditto the other riders and the horses.
I had glitter everywhere.
Then we got word that the Covered Arena was running a little bit behind schedule. This gave us some time to kill. I spent most of it taking pictures.
This is me and "my" horse, Oakley.
He is a twenty seven year old breeding stock Paint. As my friend, Bobbie, would say, he's "a paint that ain't."
Fabian's mount was a tall bay mare name Blush. She was dressed as a dragon for his Maleficent.
I don't remember who this horse was, but I sure did like his mask!
After what seemed like forever, we were told to mount up and head to the ring. Fabian was on top of Blush in an instant.
I am not experienced with sidesaddle mounting, so it took me a little longer to awkwardly climb atop Oakley.Thankfully, he was very patient and stood like a statue. Good boy!
Then, of course, we took more photos.
Cosplay BreyerFest at its best.
I was delighted to discover my saddle had a built in cell phone holder. Perfect!
Finally, it was time to go. I gave the reins a little shake, and Oakley stepped into a walk.
We followed Fabian and Blush out of the stable area...
