Summertime blues

BreyerFest was great.

The rest of this summer... not so much.
I have had so many health issues - still not Covid - but dang near everything else. First it was con crud, then an ear infection, then a blocked ear, then an allergic reaction to the ear medication...  None of it has been life threatening, but all of it has been painful, frustrating and expensive. The staff at our neighborhood Urgent Care now knows me by name. Yay!
Of course, it's also been really hot...
and really buggy.
I realize that's the definition of a first world problem, but it's still a problem, at least to me.
To top it all off, James' college housing situation fell apart just a couple weeks before the start of school.
He started talking about a gap year, and at that point, I was really, truly done with this summer.
Fortunately, in the last week or so, things have started to turn around. My ears are mostly better. My hives are mostly gone. I bought a new saddle - more on that soon! - and today, I got to ride in it.
Best of all, we were able to find James' a new living situation.
It's actually an upgrade.
Yesterday was move in day.
We met his new landlords, and everything went really smoothly. I think he's going to have a great semester.
For the first time in more than a month, I am feeling cautiously optimistic about Summer 2022. There's one month left. Let's make it a good one!

  1. I go by meteorological seasons: March 1, June 1, September 1, and December 1. Makes far more sense to me, and by that reckoning, there are only 9 more days left of summer. :)

    1. I am delighted with that photo - they both look so comfortable and happy! Jennifer, love your leg position in that saddle. You definitely found a winner!

  3. I have a week before I have to go back to school. I am excited for it (mostly) but also kind of just don't want to work. Summer is good for doing nothing! (sorry you have been so sick)
