A couple nights ago I went over to Heather's house for drinks and conversation. I admired her newest purchases...
and spent some time with the world's cutest kitten.
I mean look at her. She has her own Breyer!Adorable.
But anyway, during our conversation - which went on for hours - Heather told me multiple times that I really needed to write a post about this year's NaMoPaiMo International Model Horse Painting Party.
She's right, of course. I should have done this weeks ago. I think I was hoping that if I ignored it long enough, it would go away.
Clearly, that's not going to happen, so I guess I'll dive right in.
In the past, the rules for NaMoPaiMo have been pretty simple. Everyone was asked to paint one three dimensional model horse from start to finish during the month of February. Additionally, participants were required to sign up prior to February first and submit a photo of their finished model before midnight on the last day of the month. Easy enough, right?
I really do not have the time or emotional fortitude to enforce all that this year. Instead, the theme of this year's Painting Party is You Do You. If you want to go old school and paint one model from start to finish, that's great. If you'd rather finish last year's project, that's fine, too. What if you have a camel resin you'd like to work on? Well, the name of this event is International Model Horse Painting Party, but you do you. If a camel makes you happy, by all means paint the camel.
There's no official sign-up, no photos to upload at the end and quite probably no collage.
What there will be - I hope! - is lots of painting, lots of sharing and lots of encouragement.
It's a Painting Party, people! Let's have some fun!

Even though I’m atheist, I do love the expression “let go and let God.” So glad you’re able to let go this year, if not more. When you start to dread something more than get excited about it, you know it’s time to take a break. Enjoy your renewed mental health!
