Too cold to ride

Today is day three of record breaking cold. Yesterday the high was eight. Today we made it to twelve. Even for me, that is too cold to ride. It's not, however, too cold to go to the barn.

Olive is wearing her blanket, and seems completely content.

I call this her "snort corner."

Since it's also too cold to ride bicycles, today we went for a walk around the golf course.

Do you see what she sees?

Coyote!

He stopped to look at us...

and went on his way.

Then, off in the distance, another coyote appeared.

Two coyotes. Tis the season.

Olive watched with interest but without concern.

Good pony!

Tomorrow is supposed to be twenty three, which seems downright balmy. After that, there's a big warm-up, just in time for BreyerWest!
