NaMoPaiMo day twenty two

It's the twenty second day of NaMoPaiMo and there are approximately one hundred thirty horses in the Winners' Circle.

One of them belongs to today's NaMoPaiMo Champion of the Day, Ilana Ostrar.
Here's how Ilana describes her NaMoPaiMo horse: I did it! Condor from the Green Rider series by Kristen Britian is complete! Condor is described as a chestnut gelding with a scarring but no other distinguishing features. He is a messenger horse with special speed and stamina. I liked the idea of a stock horse with movement for him, so I started with a Babyflo. I made the model a gelding and carved in deeper scars. I took a lot reference photos of the scars from the retired horses I volunteer with so I could get Condor's scars right. I figured that since he got most of his scars while on a message errand or in battle then he wouldn't have many where his tack would be. The base was also something new for me. I was intimidating but fun to make a realistic looking base. Special thanks to Sherry Palmer for help with sourcing the base materials. Condor is done in pastels with acrylic and colored pencil details.
I have wanted a Condor model for a long time, and I'm so glad I was finally able to paint one!
Ilana's guinea pig, Porthos, participated in the Minis Painting Minis section of NaMoPaiMo. His model was a Maggie Bennett Lyskra.
Porthos used pastels,
colored pencils...
and acrylic paints to complete his model.
Ilana writes: Porthos did it! He presents: Dagny.
Here's a couple more pictures of Porthos and Dagny.
Amazing work!
Congratulations, Ilana and Porthos and good job to everyone who worked on their models today. I can't wait to see what we all do tomorrow!
