January was the longest, hardest month of my entire life.
February was better. On the heels of NaMoPaiMo, March roared in like a lion. That first week was a lot.
Then, things mostly settled down.Of course, there have been some highs and lows, but they've felt like normal highs and lows.No one died. Nothing burned down.
I went to work, and I went to the barn.
James had a birthday.
It's been a very normal month.I'll take it.I am, of course, still grieving Olive. The hunt for her replacement has been long and frustrating. In this regard, I am hoping for a more exciting April.

In all other regards, I would be happy for the normal trend to continue. March is going out like a lamb, and let me tell you: I like sheep.

Winslow is such a gorgeous boy!! Given that you like mustangs so much--are you sure that you can't talk his owner into letting you buy him as your "heart" horse?? (love Winslow's head shot with his "mini me"!!)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to James!!
That model horse bridle is nice as well!! How I wish that I could own it!!
Who's the pretty redhead in the last photo?(I mean the horse!! Not people ! Ha!)
Winslow has an excellent home with an awesome owner. Jennifer has also indicated that she is looking for a mare because she is one of those people who prefers them. Besides, this allows two horses to have amazing owners!
DeleteRegan is right. Winslow already has a perfect home. Plus, in my heart of hearts, I really want another mare. I am very, very grateful to have Winslow for this transition period, but we're not meant to be together forever.
DeleteThe pretty little mare in the last photo is one of the many horses I've tried. She bucked me off right at the mounting block. That wasn't actually a dealbreaker, but other things were. I've got two more to look at today. Cross your fingers. I'd love to find the one.
In Indiana, it's going out like a lion! Like you, I like sheep.
ReplyDeleteThat bridle is gorgeous! Horse shopping is not for the faint of heart, and I feel the right one finds you when you less expect it.
ReplyDeleteI'm not terribly excited about either of the horses I'm meeting today, so I hope you're right!
DeleteUlrike Appelt
ReplyDeleteI'm also currently looking for a horse. It's not the terribly sad story as yours, but it's still not easy.
DeleteI have my horse at home.
I'm looking for a second one to accompany us.
It's so hard to find one that truly touches your soul.
I think I can understand quite well how difficult this is for you. There is no other Olive in this world.
