Pictures from yesterday's ride

Yesterday was the last day of the year, and Karen and I wanted to spend it in the saddle. 

Our arena has been rendered nearly unrideable by our exceptionally wintry December, so we coerced Therese and Thunder into joining us on a short trail ride.

The ground was so slick, so we had to lead our horses off property.

Once we reached bare pavement, we mounted up and headed out.

There were a few icy bits, but mostly it was fine.

All the horses were good, but Olive was perfect. 

When we got back to the barn, Mary Jo met us with two bottles of champagne.

This was truly a perfect way to end the riding part of the year. Thank you, Karen, Therese and Mary Jo. I can't wait to see where the horses will take us in 2023!
