After I got Olive, I wrote a post about her every day for a week.
I could have kept going - and going and going - but I didn't want to wear out my audience.
Also, I kind of assumed everyone was thinking, "Yes, Jennifer. We get it. You have a horse now. Congratulations. Let's get back to models."
So that's what I did.
Not entirely, of course. My real horse life has always been a huge part of this blog.
Still, I made an effort to keep the Olive content to a reasonable level.
Imagine my surprise when I went to BreyerFest and heard over and over again, "We love the Olive posts. Keep them coming. We want more Olive!"
I planned to go home and write a dozen Olive posts. Instead, I went home and wrote nearly three dozen BreyerFest posts. Go figure.
By the time I was done with that, I had mostly re-convinced myself that nobody wanted to hear about Olive.
Or, more accurately, no one wanted to hear about her in the exhaustive, obsessive detail of which I am all too capable.
So instead of more Olive it was pretty much exactly the same amount of Olive.
And honestly, I think that's probably the right amount.
Except not this week.In honor of our one year anniversary, this will be the second annual "All of Olive" week. Thanks in advance for your indulgence. I promise we'll be back to the regular mix of topics soon enough.

I am team #moreOlive over here....

ReplyDeleteHas anyone noticed she's wearing the same markings as Secretariat? Just not as long on the off fore; but made up for on the face...
