After a warm, sunny November, the December deep freeze has arrived with a vengeance. If the forecast is correct, it will be a full week before we see above freezing temperatures in Denver metro area.
For the first time in a long time, I am happy to be horseless. I'm not a fair weather rider, but this is too cold, even for me.
This is stay inside and wrap up in a blanket weather.
Fortunately, thanks to Jane Schneider, we have lots of blankets here!Stay warm, everyone!
Love that little exercise blanket!!
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time since I made those blankets :-) How delightful to see them again! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love my little blankets! The mare and foal set and the quarter sheet are at least ten years old. They've been on display more or less constantly during that time, so they're pretty dusty, but I don't mind. I think they're beautiful! BFF's blanket is a lot newer, or at least newer to me. It was part of my raffle winnings at the Glyn Haven Autumn Horse Faire. It's a little long for BFF, but I still think she looks wonderful in it.

I love that quarter sheet!
ReplyDeleteLove the plaid blanket on BFF and the quarter sheet. Very nice. Luckily it is still fairly warm (for Dec anyways) on the East Coast but it has been raining on and off quite a bit.
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding me?!? I'm in short sleeves! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the photos, they are adorable!
Well in Michigan, it's been freezing, but there's no snow! If it's going to be cold out, I need snow!
ReplyDeleteBut lucky me! Today was a high of 40! I'm enjoying it while I can because the rest of the month is a staying in the 30s!
In Texas,in goes to at least 34s...but it needs to be 32 for it to snow....I NEED SNOW...;)

Love the blankets, and jealous of your weather. Would love snow instead of the weird warm-chilly bipolar PA weather. :)
ReplyDeleteThe temperature is currently sitting at zero. I think the high was eight. It's just ridiculously cold and not all that snowy. We got maybe four inches today. I'm like Devon--if it's going to be this cold, I want snow. Four inches doesn't cut it. The kids didn't even get a snow day!
ReplyDeleteHmm, sat here with the air conditioning on as it's 28C (82F) outside, and due to be 37C (98F) on Saturday! But being from the northern hemisphere I am jealous of anywhere with snow at this time of year. Blue skies and 100F temps are not Christmassy!
ReplyDeleteI know, this Colorado is bitter. We got more up here in Franktown CO...about eight inches or so. Still, right now it is -8 and I have to go outside to care for my Minatare horses!

P.S. Mrs. Jennifer, are you going to the Dover Saddlery fun day? I don't know if you remember, but I vaguely saw you last year at it! Imagine my shock when you posted a blog post on it and I was thinking "wouldn't it be so cool to meet her"?
I would have LOVED to go to Dover's Breyer night but it was just too cold. Maybe next year!
ReplyDeleteI was just wondering do you own the gorgeous dun pinto stone(?) with the rider? He's really the most gorgeous stone I've ever seen :)
ReplyDelete-Leona-
That is actually a Utopia resin. He was sculpted by Kathleen Moody and painted by Cheryl Calentine. He's an oldie but a goodie and I am happy to own him!
