If life was fair, I would have spent yesterday attending the Wild, Wild West All Yellow and Performance Shootout model horse shows. These shows were to be held by Nancy Dement and Jim West.
After Jim's untimely death last month, Nancy decided the show would not go on. Everyone understood, but we still wanted to get together. Thus, the Wild, Wild West Potluck was born.
Everyone brought food, but Collyn also brought gifts.
Such a wonderful little custom by Courtney Long!
We admired Vicky's Breyer collection...
which is beautifully displayed...
throughout her home.
This is one of the two Jim West memorial models created for Vicky by the Peter Stone Company. Teal pegasus is hers to keep. The other will be auctioned, and the proceeds will be donated to a college fund for Jim's children.
The horses on these shelves belonged to Jim. Eventually most of them will also be offered for sale.
Wild, Wild West Potluck did not include NAN cards. However, there were Cards Against Humanity.
It's probably best that you can't read the cards Sandy and I are holding.
I don't believe everything happens for a reason. Bad things happen to good people all the time. There's no rhyme or reason to it. Every single person in this photo misses Jim. Without him, our lives are sadder (and quieter).
That said, good things can come from tragedy. The Colorado hobby group is more united than ever before. We all know what's most important, and it's not NAN cards. I love you guys!
